Sourdough Air Transport, a partnership between Anton R. and Dorothy V. Johansen, was a non-scheduled air carrier with passenger and freight operations in Alaska from 1947 to 1962. Its main base of operations was Boeing Field, Seattle, Washington. The company was forced out of business in 1962 when the Civil Aeronautics Board declined to renew its registration. On November 3, 1958 the six airlines filed an agreement with the Civil Aeronautics Board which provided for certain mutual assistance in the event of a strike against one of them. The carriers still operating would make monthly payments of the increased revenues (less added direct expense) to the carrier which was shut down.
